Father’s Day 2013

June 16th, 2013

Even though Papa Bear insists we don’t make a big fuss on Father’s Day, we went ahead and threw him a celebration.  Party on!

And to all our Grandpas (Grandpa Ceasar, Jim, & Bill), we didn’t forget about you.  We tried something new this year which may have been a little risky.  If you don’t ever get your postcards, please let us know!

Happy Father’s Day to all you dedicated daddies out there!

A Sweet Treat

May 10th, 2013

Boy, did I get a sweet treat yesterday!  Sylas’ preschool planned a Mother’s Day tea party for all the mommies.  Not only did I receive a place mat with a special message:

But I also got to hear Sylas sing a few songs. Here’s a few short clips of his performance:

You did an awesome job, Sylas!  Catch the rest of the footage here.  Enjoy and Happy Mother’s Day to all you hard working mommies out there!

Hoppy Easter!

April 8th, 2013

The Easter photos are finally up!  This year, we didn’t have our buddies over but we still managed to have a good time.

The Easter Bunny was especially tricky for the hunt.  The eggs weren’t filled with the usual goodies and sweets but filled with fortunes, reminders, hints and puzzle pieces:

Once the pieces of the map were carefully taped together, Ariel and Sylas were on another hunt for a key to the treasure.

The key ended up being the door opener for Dad’s car!  Hmmm…

Hooray, it’s a wagon!

Time for a stroll around the neighborhood.

We hope everyone had a fantastic Easter holiday.  Happy Spring!

Got another nifty Shutterfly coupon from my wonderful Mother-in-law.  Which, coincidentally, took this photo the night before she departed.  It was great spending time with her and grandpa.  We’ll see you two again soon!

First Black Friday

November 23rd, 2012

We actually were out and about on Black Friday!  Though, we spent it at the photography studio at Sears not shopping.

The kids were so good about the long wait(s) at the studio we finally gave in and let them play at the newest attraction at the nearby mall.  The entrance fee costs a pretty penny but it was well spent.  They played for 2 1/2 hours!

Here is what Sylas looked like when he finally let us leave:

He could barely walk back to the car because his muscles were sore.  I hope he’ll be okay in the morning.

Enjoy the rest of your November!

Hope everyone had a blast.  We certainly did!

Happy Easter

April 8th, 2012

Hope everyone’s Easter holiday went well!  As for us, we first had a mini indoor hunt with just Ariel and Sylas.  And then later in the afternoon, some of our pals came over for our annual outdoor hunt.  So far, I’ve got the pics from the indoor celebration posted.

I filled the box with goodies and then we divvied up the loot.

By the way, we played this game before when we first received this box of peanuts in the mail during the Christmas holidays.  Back then, I hid several of their little toys.  It can get messy but they think it’s a hoot to dig for treasure.

Happy Easter!

Family Play Date

March 17th, 2012

As mentioned before, the four of us had an excursion at the Family Fun Center to celebrate Sy’s 3rd birthday.  Our time there went a little something like this:

We all had so much fun and we can’t wait to go there again during warmer weather!

Happy Birthday Sylas!

March 15th, 2012

Our sweet son had his 3rd birthday on Tuesday.  The four of us celebrated with a day of play at the Family Fun Center.  The kids are recovering from colds but they still managed to have lots of fun.  We ended our day with a donut party!  🙂

This balloon was given to us on the day he was born.  It’s still going strong, just like Sylas!

We hope your wish comes true, Sy!  You surely deserve it!

All our love,

Mom, Dad, and Sister

Leap Year Wedding!

March 2nd, 2012

My Cousin held her wedding in Seattle on Wednesday.  We were at first a bit worried about making the kids attend but when we got there, she assured us it would be totally low-key and informal.  Because it was so informal, we were pretty much the only family from her Dad’s side of the family attending.  I’m so glad we were able to witness this sweet event.  Here are some of my favorite moments:

The Metallica entrance march.  🙂

"I smile because you’re my sister… I laugh because there’s nothing you can do about it!"

These boys know how to cut a rug!

Congratulations and enjoy your life together, Diana and James!!
